the bad guys club

Every year since 2019 I have attempted different art challenges during the month of October. Whether it was Peachtober, Inktober, or Season of the Bad Guys club, there was something exciting about the aspect of creating a series of work that already had prompts set up for you. I came across Craig Gleason’s work years ago and didn’t seriously join the Season of the Bad Guys challenge until 2023 where I combined the prompt with another artist, Sha’an d’Anthes’ Peachtober.

Last year I approached the prompt list differently . I wanted to focus on the basics of doing self-portraits. Before the prompt list came out, I had been in a creative slump. I felt unmotivated and had many ideas but didn’t know where to start. Creating the self-portraits allowed me to focus more on color and composition since I am already familiar with the subject: myself. I enjoyed last year’s challenge and I’m looking forward to what 2025 will have in store for me. Below are all 31 of the portraits that I created.
